About Me

closet poet - I write free style poetry when the mood hits. It's my own personal brand of therapy. I share it with the world online so if you are interested in my poetry, check out my other blog A Room of My Own

intermittent quilter - I love quilting, but I do best when I have a deadline and a project that shows me progress right away. I get bored when I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere.

avid music lover - I am always singing. At any given moment, there will be at least one song playing in my head. I listen to music for so many reasons, but simply, because I need it. I also play music. I love to express myself and lead others in worship with my instruments.

insatiable reader - as with music, I always have to be reading something. I hate being "between books". It stresses me out. I read voraciously. I read until the wee hours of the morning. My favourite books are usually youth fiction because they have wonderful plots, they move along quickly and they don't contain garbage that some adult authors throw in.

elementary educator - I have been teaching since 2006 and have taught everything from K to Grade 8, regular classroom, music, french and art. I am off on maternity leave right now, but hope to get a teaching position in the new year.

dedicated wife - I have been married to my DH since December 2005. We have been together, however, since July 1999. We are high school sweethearts who alternately squabble and cuddle. His job takes him away for up to three months at a time, but I am always waiting here when he gets home.

new mom - We created our very own brand new human in March of 2013. I adore my little man. Being a mom has been frustrating, terrifying, satisfying, heart-filling and confusing. It has also challenged me to make all of my life more organized.

Jesus follower - My life is always wrapped up in my desire to follow God's will for my life. I have been involved with our church youth group, I've lead worship, I've sung in the choir, and I've helped with the drama ministry.
